You see people who are available for a co-founder role and pass your must-haves. Each card shows the mutual fit and which criteria fit, partly fit or do not.
Requests come with a note and the fit
People who want to join can ask you for an intro. You read their note, their terms and the fit, and answer within 14 days. Say yes, and you both get email and phone. Say no, and they get a neutral notice without your reason.
Show what you have built before
Companies you founded or co-founded, with your role and what became of them. An exit with evidence gets a badge once our team has checked it.

Checked before it goes live
Every search is checked against our published criteria before it goes live, and again after changes. We check quality, we don't select people.
You choose what is public
The teaser shows only what you put in it. Members see the details, and contact details follow only when both say yes.
Hosted in the EU
Our database and our servers are in Frankfurt, and we work under the GDPR. You can delete your account at any time.
Questions from founders
What does a co-founder search cost?
During the beta, plans are free: a voucher code gives you one, or your programme sponsors it. Later, three plans will apply: Starter, Standard and Pro. We will publish their details later.
Are there enough co-founders on Cofoundista yet?
We are just starting. Programme partners bring their founders and teams, and the teaser of your search is public and found by search engines, also by people who have no profile yet. From the first day you see how many candidates fit your search.
How long does it take to create a search?
Your profile and your search take about 5 to 10 minutes each. The search is then checked, usually within 48 hours, and you get an email as soon as it is live.
Who sees my venture and my company name?
The public sees the teaser: title, place, stage, the role you seek and the size of your team. Members also see problem, solution, traction, your terms and the first names of your team. Company name, logo and website follow in an intro, unless you show the company publicly. So do your full name and links. Put into the teaser only what you want to make public and are allowed to share.
Is my idea safe here?
Only members see the details of your search, and we screen profiles in the background. Write what helps the right person decide, and keep trade secrets for the first conversation.
How fast is my search checked?
Usually within 48 hours. If something is missing or unclear, we tell you what to change, and the search goes live once it is fixed.
How many people can I invite?
Up to 10 open invites per search at a time. A slot frees when someone answers, when you withdraw, or when an invite expires after 14 days. People who want to join can also ask you for an intro.
What happens when I found my co-founder?
Mark your search as filled. We ask whether you found them through Cofoundista, and open intros for the search end with a neutral notice. A filled search no longer counts towards your plan.
My incubator or university is a programme partner. What changes?
Your programme can sponsor your account plan. Use its link or enter its code, and the programme confirms you. The programme sees your name and email for the sponsorship, never your intros.
